    This hike is cancelled due to weather. Grab a friend and get out for a walkabout in the woods at a local hiking hot spot. The hike is about 3 miles on natural surface trail over rolling terrain. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots. Bring a water bottle and an extra layer. Trekking poles recommended. All ages welcome, but under 16 must be accompanied by an adult/ Dogs welcome! Hike starts at 2:30 so arrive a few minutes before.

    Ages: 12 and up recommended The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Burlington Recreation & Parks presents the Hunter Education Course. The course is designed to promote the safe handling of firearms and archery equipment, teach responsible, ethical conduct by hunters, education sportsmen in the various methods and the proper use of equipment harvesting game, and endorse the importance of wildlife management laws and regulations. Participants will receive their Hunter’s Safety Certification and badge after passing a written exam. For more information or to register visit www.ncwildlife.org. Participants must be registered.
