  1. Nature Rocks! A Rock Painting Event for Kids

    September 27, 2017, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Burlington City Park – Civitan Shelter

Ages: 5 & up Burlington Recreation & Parks invites families to celebrate Take A Child Outside Week with a creative and fun “kindness rocks” painting event in the outdoors at the Civitan Shelter in the Burlington City Park. Rocks will be prepped for painting and materials will be supplied, so just bring your creativity and inspirational messages to decorate your rocks. Leave the rocks for us to seal and finish and come back to join us on Wednesday, October 4th from 4-5pm at the same location and we will set off for a hike and rock planting throughout the City Park! Never heard of “kindness rocks”? This movement is taking off across the nation as a way to brighten another’s day with a kind word, a pat on the back, or a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Plant a rock for someone to find or find a rock to hide for another. For more information about upcoming TACO events or to register for “Nature Rocks!”, please visit www.BurlingtonNC.gov/outdoors. Registration is required.
