  1. Winter Walkabout - Great Bend Park

    November 22, 2017, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM @ Great Bend Park

    Slow down, get outside and get your steps in before the Thanksgiving craziness. Join us on this family friendly hike along the Haw River from Great Bend Park. There will be an optional "Winter Woods" scavenger hunt available. The hike is 2.5 miles on natural surface trail over rolling terrain with a few steep hills. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots. Bring a water bottle and an extra layer. Trekking poles optional. Suitable for ages 6+ (ages 6-16 must be accompanied by an adult). Dogs welcome! Arrive a few minutes early. The hike starts promptly at 2:30.

Help us kick-off the holiday season by enjoying High School bands, dancers, horses, antique cars and community organizations as they fill the streets with joy. Bring your chairs and blankets and don't forget to arrive early as the traffic is busy prior to the start of the parade.
