Burlington Youth Council – Hasbro PLAYATHONS for Haiti - Mar. 10 - Mar. 13 The Burlington Youth Council presents Hasbro PLAYATHONS for Haiti. Kids of all ages are invited to the Burlington Youth Council’s PLAYATHONS to benefit the SOS Children’s Villages in Haiti. The PLAYATHON event will be held at Thataways Youth Center and is open to anyone who wants to participate. The concept behind a PLAYATHON is similar to a walk-a-thon. In a PLAYATHON, participants gather pledges for the time they spend playing. A PLAYATHON provides children of all ages a way to fundraise for a charity of their choice while doing what they do best…playing! Special Populations St. Patrick's Day Dance - Mar. 16 Dances are designed to offer a dance night for persons with developmental disabilities in Alamance County. Come out and enjoy music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, including all time dance favorites, from the Cha-Cha Slide to the Mississippi Mudslide. Hunter Education Program - Mar. 20 - Mar. 21 The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Burlington Recreation & Parks presents the Hunter Education Program. This program is designed to promote the safe handling of firearms and archery equipment, teach responsible, ethical conduct by hunters, educate sportsmen in the various methods and the proper use id equipment harvesting game, and endorse the importance of wildlife management laws and regulations. Participants will receive their Hunter's Safety Certification and badge after passing a written exam. Beginner Line Dancing Classes Begin - Mar. 22 Burlington Recreation & Parks presents Beginner Line Dancing Classes. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny - Mar. 27 The Burlington Recreation & Parks Community Centers invites families to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny.
