Burlington is a Maker City

On July 14, 2014, the Burlington City Council accepted the "Mayor's Maker Challenge" initiated by the Manufacturing Alliance of Communities. The Mayor's Maker Challenge is a call to action from mayors challenging their peers to bolster making in their communities. 

Since Burlington joined the Mayor's Maker Challenge, the Alamance Maker's Guild (AMG) had been working to build awareness, an ecosystem, and community around the Maker Movement in the city of Burlington and Alamance County. 

The ultimate goal of the Alamance Maker's Guild was realized when their Maker Space opened in downtown Burlington in February of 2016.

A Mini Maker Faire is also hosted annually in Burlington. Learn more about the Faire here:
