Specialty Camps

Burlington Recreation and Parks offer Specialty Camps throughout the summer months. Kids will experience a special taste of their favorite interest or hobby. Space is limited and a waiting list is available if the camp requested is full. Registration can be completed at the Burlington Recreation & Parks Main Office for most camps. The registration form is below, but there may be additional forms at registration depending on the camp. Transportation will not be provided to or from BRPD Summer Day Camp locations. ACES & DEUCES TENNIS CAMP 


June 13 – July 15 (5 weeks)

CHALLENGER BRITISH SOCCER CAMP 


June 20 - 24 
Half Day or Full Day 
Ages: 3 - 16 
Cost: $45 - $190 
Location: Joe C. Davidson Park • 3715 Rural Retreat Road, Burlington, NC 27215
Kids take part in a soccer camp focusing on fundamentals and skills the challenger way. Each camper will receive a free camp T-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster, individual skills performance evaluation and free access to an educational soccer website. In addition, any child who signs up online at least 45 days prior to camp will receive a genuine British Soccer replica Jersey (valued at $39). TEEN TO TEEN THEATRE & VIDEO'S SUMMER FILM LAB

Cost: $50 per week or $90 for both weeks, includes a daily snack & a t-shirt
Ages: rising 7th – 12th grade students*

This intensive workshop is designed to offer opportunities for participants to learn the varied aspects of video production; including scriptwriting, auditioning, casting, directing, acting for the camera, videography, sound design, video lighting and more. Actors are highly encouraged to participate to help increase their improvisation skills and to become familiar with acting on camera. Incorporating elements often found in thriller, horror and teen genre films, we will be producing a short film about the dangers of social media. A film premiere will be held on Friday, September 9 at Thataways Youth Center upon completion of editing. Camp will be instructed by Robert Kearns.
